Looking forward to working with world-class promoters that is. This time around we are teaming with the one, the only Adnan Sharif and his always-on-point, never-dull Forward party. Saturday, July 21st is the day and date and heavenly is the line-up. Honestly you could not dream up a better line-up than the one this party has in store for you. Also this talent is spread around the entire venue and this includes a silent disco that will be happening in Erie Alley.
On the main floor Public Works and Forward are proud to present Nitin, the highly prolific Canadian producer with releases on No. 19 Music (the label he runs with Art Department) and My Favorite Robot Records in Toronto. This guy is really starting to show some muscle with a plethora of remixes on imprints like the two above as well as 6-Ryl Sessions and Thoughtless Music. His headlining set in the big room at the Works is gonna be one to remember. In support of him are three legends of the San Francisco house scene, namely Adnan himself — who is celebrating his birthday on the night — DJ Galen from Sunset and Michael Perry of Fedora. These guys know how it’s done and will create a frenzy in around Nitin. Be warned.
Upstairs in the Oddjob Loft is Tomas Barfod is an artist with releases on Kompakt, Get Physical Music, Tiga’s Turbo label, and Mirau. Expect greatness from this guy because on top of him being drummer and producer for WhoMadeWho he is also a member of Danish band Filur and electronic project Jatoma. He’s a man with many fingers in many pies, but that doesn’t mean he’s a jack of all trades and a master of none. In fact he picks up accolades regardless of what he turns his hand to as this glowing Pitchfork review of his solo album Salton Sea proves. Tomas will be backed up by the Works’ own Peter Blick and by Sunset and No Way Back dance floor wrecker Solar. As you can see the upstairs room is gonna be as knocking as the main floor so please feel free to add your feet and body to the craziness.
And as you reel from all this insanity you will no doubt seek solace outside, somewhere to gather your thoughts and decide what you will do next. But alas there is no escape there either for in the ally by the light of the moon (if you can see the moon that is) there will be bodies gyrating in silence. You will ask, “What is this lunacy?” A silent disco will be in full effect outside with music kindly provided by Star Kommand and by dAvi A from Workin The Machine. So there you have it, you’ll be trapped in the groove with no way out; no way back, only a way forward, in fact.
We’re really lookin’ forward (pun intended) to the 21st so please, please, please come and join on all the floors at the Works.
