No Way Back are back at the Works. No way, you say. Yes way, I say. The deadly duo of Conor and Solar are back on the decks in the Oddjob Loft at the Works on Thursday, April 26th. This time around they have teamed up with Public Works and brought out French jack of all genres Joakim for some hi-jinks and slamming tunes. Joakim is the mind behind the Tigersushi label, which has released some great music across a whole range of styles. This has included new material and classic gems by the likes of Maurice Fulton, E.S.G, Poni Hoax, Metro Area, and Terence Parker.
Add to this his work as a remixer, putting a magic touch to artists such as Tiga, Max Berlin, Air, Antena and Metronomy. On top of all his production, remixing and label running he also has a band, The Ectoplasmic Band, in which he works machines, plays keyboards, plucks guitars and uses his vocal chords. A man for all seasons of music, evidently. Between 2003 and 2011 he has released three albums on the Versatile Records label; his latest long player, Nothing Gold, came out on his own Tigersushi imprint in 2011.
He will joined on the ones and twos by two of SF faves, Conor and Solar, the men behind No Way Back. So on Thursday night don’t twiddle your thumbs then think that you should take up knitting again. Get your beautifully formed posterior out the door and on the floor and at the Works. It will be one banging night of wicked music. We guarantee it. And if you want to grab some tickets please do so here. BTW, presale tix are only $8 and are available here.
