HUTTER presents

HTRK (Aus) live
TROPIC OF CANCER (LA) live

Info about advance tickets forthcoming. This show is 21+.

About HTRK:
Live electronic / noise / avant pop/rock act from Melbourne known for their subtlety of gesture and stubbornly languorous performances, this two-piece is capable of seducing audiences through disciplined waves of sonics, crisp 808 beats and soft, calm threats. From 2007-09, HTRK toured Europe extensively at the personal request of Liars, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Shellac, The Horrors, The Locust and Fuck Buttons. Their defiantly underground pedigree derives from strong associations with the late, great Rowland S. Howard and UK industrial legend Paul Smith whose label Blast First Petite(Pan Sonic, Martin Rev) they are signed to. HTRK sadly lost their bassist to suicide in 2010 but have since returned with a comeback show of “purging… redolent beauty” (NME) at the ICA London and will spend this year touring in support of their forthcoming album entitled … Read more ›

Public Works proud to be bringing the back-to-back pairing of Motor City maestros Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson as HI TEK SOUL. The two DJs will be celebrating 25 years of Detroit techno with a 3+ hour set.

Support, more details and presales will be up shortly..

“You know, we were at the beginning of this whole movement and we enjoy playing together,” Saunderson says. “We’ve got four decks, four CD players, drum machine, keyboard. Derrick’s a little more traditional on vinyl, while I’m on Traktor. It’s a good incorporation of just great music; us vibing off each other. It’s not really planned out, but we’ve got a good ear for music, and together it brings a different type of energy.”

“Hi-Tek Soul is funky, groovy, electronic soul,” he continues. “It doesn’t mean it’s slow or super-fast; it’s just got a pulse that you can feel. It’s definitive to the ear.”

May, Saunderson and … Read more ›
